Game 2 Box Score

WEST CHESTER,Pa.
– Blair Dameron went a combined 5-for-7 with three runs scored and four RBI to lead host West Chester University to a sweep of a PSAC East baseball doubleheader over visiting East Stroudsburg at Serpico Stadium on Saturday afternoon. West Chester won game one, 9-1, and took game two, 7-2.

Dameron’s two-run single in the first and two-run home run to centerfield in the third helped stake the Golden Rams (17-8, 7-1 PSAC East) to a 6-1 lead after three innings of play in the opener. West Chester tacked on two more in the fifth and one in the sixth before it was all said and done.

With the wind blowing out to left-center, Dameron lifted an offering from starter Andy Noga up into the jet stream and planted the baseball on the hill just to the left of the flag pole in dead center. That home run scored Matt Cotellese, who had singled just before Dameron stepped to the plate. Cotellese finished game one 2-for-2 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Joe Wendle went 2-for-3, and Kevin McGrath and Nick Spisak each scored a pair of runs for the Golden Rams in the opener.

ESU took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the fourth inning in game two. However, West Chester plated three runs in its half and then tacked on three more in the fifth, after the Warriors scored once more, to open a 6-2 advantage after five. The Golden Rams scored again in the sixth to move the lead to 7-2.

Bret Moyer (4-1) went the distance on the mound for West Chester, giving up six hits and two runs while walking three and striking out four. Steve Prezenka (2-2) took the loss in the nightcap. He started and lasted 4.2 innings, giving up eight hits and six runs, only three of those were earned.
