Game 2 Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Jason Bowman didn’t allow a hit in five innings, and Blair Dameron hit a home run in game one of a PSAC East baseball doubleheader at Serpico Stadium as host West Chester claimed a pair of 11-1 victories Friday afternoon.

West Chester (31-9, 16-2 PSAC East) improved its stranglehold on first place in the league standings while Bloomsburg (14-26, 5-17) fell further behind the Golden Rams.

Bowman (3-3) started and pitched the first five innings without allowing a hit. He did give up one unearned run while West Chester built an insurmountable lead with four runs in the sixth that made it an 8-1 ballgame.

Dameron hit a three-run homer, his team-leading 11th of the season, in the fifth to put the game out of reach. It marked his sixth home run in West Chester’s last four contests. Dameron finished 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. He was a triple shy of the cycle.

Bowman walked two and struck out five. He gave way to Carmen Daddario in the sixth, who went the rest of the way. Tony Donofry broke up the Golden Rams’ no-hit bid with a single in the sixth. It was the Huskies’ only hit of the game.

In the nightcap, Connor Kerins (6-1) scattered six hits over six innings, striking out four and allowing just one run to pick up the win.

Matt Cotellese was 3-for-4 with two doubles. Joe Wendle and Bob Stumpo recorded a pair of RBI.

West Chester and Bloomsburg will play another doubleheader tomorrow afternoon at Bloomsburg.
