WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester scored three goals in the first half put away visiting Mansfield early en route to a 3-0 shutout over the Mountaineers in a PSAC East women’s soccer match Saturday afternoon on south campus.
The Golden Rams (4-1, 3-1 PSAC East) received goals from Jen Hutchinson in the 13th minute, Lara Bodenstab in the 26th minute and Jen Gangl in the 33rd minute to build their insurmountable lead over the Mountaineers (2-3-1, 0-3-1).
Lyndsie Bernardini was called upon to make just one save in going the distance in goal. The freshman now has four wins, all by shutout, in her college career.
Heather Manorek, Melissa McKeary and Sarah Oswald each picked up assists in the win. West Chester held a 23-6 advantage in shots and a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Mansfield goalkeeper Alexis Wilhelm made nine saves in a losing effort.
