Bloomsburg Shuts Out West Chester Men, 3-0

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Bloomsburg scored twice in the first half and once more in the second half en route to a 3-0 shutout over visiting West Chester in the PSAC East opener for both schools Wednesday evening.

West Chester (0-2, 0-1 PSAC East) outshot Bloomsburg (2-0, 1-0) by a 16-9 margin, but could not solve Huskies goalkeeper David Leiendecker, who made six saves in the win. Rams’ keeper Peter Weiss made one save.

Eric Simonds tallied in the 20th minute, and teammate Marcus Valeriano scored just before halftime for the homestanding Huskies. Bryce Shaffer then scored in the 65th minute to close out the scoring.

West Chester returns home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against Shippensburg inside John A. Farrell Stadium.
