West Chester Men Fall At No. 22 East Stroudsburg, 89-78

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.
– Ralph Hegamin netted 18 points, but 22nd-ranked East Stroudsburg shot the lights out in the second half, scoring 56 points, en route to an 89-78 victory over West Chester in a PSAC East men’s basketball tilt inside Koehler Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

West Chester falls to 13-6 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC East while East Stroudsburg improves to 18-1 and 5-1, respectively. It marked the Golden Rams’ second loss to a nationally ranked opponent within its division in the last 10 days.

East Stroudsburg shot 56 percent in the second half, scoring 54 points in the process, to keep the upset-minded West Chester Golden Rams on the short side of the scoreboard. The Rams posted 49 points of their own after halftime, despite shooting 25.8 percent from the field. But, the homestanding Warriors kept their visitors from getting any closer than eight points down the stretch.

Eli Daniel posted 14 points off the bench as West Chester produced five players in double digits. Kehinde Roberts registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kenny St. George and Harley Williamson each recorded 11 points for the Rams.

East Stroudsburg’s Mike Tobin led all scorers with 22 points. Mike DeMarco scored 15 points.

West Chester returns home Wednesday for an 8 p.m. showdown with Shippensburg at Hollinger Field House.
