Lock Haven Field Hockey Shuts Out West Chester, 3-0

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Host Lock Haven University scored a pair of goals in the first half and added an insurance tally in the second en route to a 3-0 shutout over visiting West Chester University in an Atlantic 10 conference field hockey tilt at Charlotte Smith Field Sunday afternoon.

West Chester (5-11, 1-4 A-10) dropped its third consecutive league match while Lock Haven (13-5, 4-1) kept pace with UMass in the league standings. 

Lock Haven's Amy Hordendorf scored two minutes into the contest when she dribbled into the circle and put a shot between West Chester goalkeeper Kristen Arnold's legs. Kristi Shepps doubled the host's lead, finishing off a long run in the 30th minute with a shot that beat Arnold to the far corner of the cage. 

Teresa Lezama then made it 3-0 in the second half with a goal off a penalty corner. 

Lock Haven held an 8-3 advantage in shots as well as corners.

Arnold made one save in 70 minutes of action for West Chester. Lock Haven's Erin Terreson registered two saves in the shutout. 

West Chester returns home on Friday for its final home game of 2010 against UMass at Vonnie Gros Field at 3 p.m. before traveling to St. Louis University on Sunday for its season finale against the Billikens.

Friday will be Senior Day for the Golden Rams as they pay tribute to their senior class playing in their final home game.
