FENTON, Mo. - Alisha Moran and Nicole Fiorilla each scored a goal as visiting West Chester defeated host St. Louis, 2-1, in the regular-season finale for both schools Sunday afternoon.
West Chester (6-12, 2-5 Atlantic 10) concludes the regular season halting a five-game losing streak while St. Louis (0-20, 0-7) finished the regular season winless.
Moran opened the scoring in the 29th minute, converting a penalty stroke. However, St. Louis' Shelby Dittmar tied things up one minute later.
That is the way things stood until the 43rd minute when Nicole Fiorilla scored on a deflection off of a penalty corner. Lauren Schott and Courtney Wolff each picked up an assist on the play.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gabby Panasiewicz made two saves, playing the entire 70 minute to collect the win. St. Louis goalie Katherine Deem made four saves for the Billikens.
