WEST CHESTER Pa. - West Chester University’s women’s tennis tema easily outdistanced University of the District of Columbia, 7-2, in a non-league PSAC match Friday afternoon.
West Chester (5-3) had little problem with visiting UDC in a tune-up before the PSAC Individual Championships, which begin Saturday at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg.
Brittany Counts and Luisi Souto came back from a 5-2 deficit to score an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and set the pace for the afternoon. West Chester won all three doubles and Nos. 3-6 in the singles to pick up the win.
Claire Afrassiabian and Teresa Grasso were each 6-0, 6-0 straight set winners while Alex Santoro was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 5. Ali Fetter was also a winner on the afternoon at No. 3 singles.
