Bloomsburg Stings West Chester, 67-55

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kenneth St. George scored a team-high 13 points, but it was not enough as host West Chester University fell to visiting Bloomsburg, 67-55, in a PSAC East men’s basketball contest Saturday afternoon inside Hollinger Field House.

West Chester falls to (14-8, 3-6 PSAC East), while Bloomsburg improves its standings to (9-12, 3-6). The Golden Rams suffered a tough loss, at the same time putting their playoff hopes in jeopardy.

Bloomsburg shot 58.8 percent in the first half to keep the Golden Rams from making any kind of a run. After posting a dismal 21 points on 7-for-29 shooting from the field (24.1 percent), the Golden Rams still could not find an answer in the second half. The Huskies kept the home team from getting any closer then six points down the stretch.

Ralph Hegamin added 11 points and five rebounds, and Kehinde Roberts contributed eight points and five rebounds. West Chester struggled from behind the 3-point arc as well, going 2-for-15 (13.3 percent).

Bloomsburg’s Ruben Britt led all scorers with 22 points. Larry Webster had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

West Chester returns to action on Monday, Feb. 15 when the Golden Rams travel to Cheyney for its makeup game that was snowed out last week.
