WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Kaley LaFleur took top honors in two events and was the all-around champion in leading West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad to a 180.750-166.175 non-league dual meet victory over visiting Rhode Island College Saturday afternoon at Sturzebecker Health Science Center.

West Chester improves to 3-0 in dual meet competitions with its second win over Rhode Island College this year. The Golden Rams topped RIC, 177.800-169.350, on January 15. This time around, West Chester improved upon its score.

LaFleur was the leader on both the uneven parallel bars (8.95) and the balance beam (9.475). All six Golden Rams placed higher than Rhode Island's six on the bars, while West Chester captured the top four spots on the beam. Alli Aquila was second on the beam to LaFleur with a 9.250.

The vault was West Chester's top event of the afternoon. Melissa Voskian won the event with a score of 9.350 while teammates Felicia Massaro (9.300) and Aquila (9.250). LaFleur posted a 9.200 as all six WCU competitors were above a 9.0, totaling a team score of 46.275 on that apparatus.

LaFleur registered an all-around score of 36.875 to take first place in the meet. Aquila was second with a 35.350. Liz Glunt was Rhode Island's top all-arounder with a score of 33.800.

West Chester scored a 46.250 as a team on the floor exercise with Aquila and Rachel Pearson sharing top honors. Both Golden Rams' competitors scored a 9.300. Lindsey Britt and LaFleur tied for third with identical scores of 9.250.

West Chester returns home next Friday night for a tri-meet on Senior Night against Temple and Springfield College. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
