MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Joe Wendle went 2-for-5 and drove in five runs to lead West Chester University to a 12-6 victory over Philadelphia University in the team's final game at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Sunday afternoon.
West Chester (7-2) went unbeaten on the weekend in Myrtle Beach with its second win over Philadelphia University in three days.
Matt Baer was 1-for-2 with three RBI in the win.
Junior Craig Carroll (1-0) picked up his first win in a Golden Rams' uniform. He pitched 3.2 innings in relief of starter Brian Lawlor, who lasted just two innings. Joe Opalka finished up the final 3.1 innings for West Chester.
The Golden Rams return home uncertain when they will be back in action due to the snowstorms that have dropped record amounts of snow on Southeastern Pennsylvania this winter.
