WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Matt Baer hit for the cycle and Fred Breidenbach threw a four-hitter in the second game of a PSAC East baseball doubleheader as No. 10 West Chester split the twinbill with visiting East Stroudsburg on an overcast and cold Sunday afternoon.

West Chester (22-4, 9-1 PSAC East) saw its 12-game winning streak come to a close in the opener as East Stroudsburg (10-10, 1-5) earned a 3-1 victory. The Golden Rams' bats came alive in the nightcap in a 24-2 win over the Warriors.

Breidenbach (6-0) allowed two runs on four hits, walked three and struck out four in a complete game effort. Brian Ernst (2-1) lasted just 1/3 of an inning, allowing nine runs on six hits and walking three. West Chester scored nine runs in the first inning.

Baer singled in the first, hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season in the third, doubled in the fourth and tripled in the sixth to complete his cycle. He finished the day 5-for-6 with five RBI and four runs scored.

Spisak was 2-for-5 in game two with a three-run homer in the seventh and finished with six RBI. Bob Stumpo and Bill Pace each had a pair of RBI as well.

In the opener, Eric Carmichael (5-2) allowed three runs, one of them unearned, on three hits. He walked one and struck out four in six innings of work.

East Stroudsburg's Ryan Guarino singled up the middle with one out and then stole second when he was caught in a pickoff attempt, but beat the throw down to second base. After a flyout for the second out of the inning, Guarino stole third, and Jason Kelmer hit his fourth home run of the season to put ESU on top early, 2-0.

The Warriors added an unearned run in the sixth  when Carey Zimmerman struck out, but reached first when the third strike was dropped. He was sacrificed over to second and then stole third. Guarino singled him home to make it a 3-0 ballgame.

Baer hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning for West Chester's lone run.

Tuesday, the Golden Rams are back at Serpico Stadium to take on Wilmington (Del.) University in the first round of the Bill Giles Classic. The winner of that game advances to the championship on April 20, which will be played in Citizen's Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
