WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Slippery Rock’s (3-0-1, 2-0 PSAC) Mitchell Walters scored unassisted in the 63rd minute to lead visiting Slippery Rock to a 1-0 victory over host West Chester University in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match.
West Chester (2-2, 0-2 PSAC) played 74 minutes with a man down after Conor Malarney received a red card during the 16th minute of the match. Malarney came into the game leading the Golden Rams with three goals.
West Chester senior goalkeeper Peter Weiss (2-2) played 73 minutes and made five saves. Sophomore Kevin Marron came on and played the final 17 minutes, recording one save. Slippery Rock’s Greg Blum played the entire match for The Rock recording one save.
West Chester travels to Philadelphia University on Tuesday in its next contest. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
