KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Michelle Powers registered nine kills in each of West Chester's matches to lead the Golden Rams to a pair of 3-0 sweeps over St. Rose and LeMoyne on the second day of the Kutztown Invitational Saturday.
West Chester (3-0) took all three of its matches at the season-opening tournament, after beating C.W. Post, 3-1, Friday night. The Golden Rams topped St. Rose by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-21. They topped LeMoyne by marks of 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.
Helen Fitzpatrick recorded 27 assists and three aces in the sweep over LeMoyne in the evening. Lisa Campbell notched seven digs and one service ace while Lexi Kegerise posted nine kills. Powers added five blocks to her nine-kill effort.
In the morning, Julie Boblits, Kegerise and Fitzpatrick all had seven kills to aid Powers' nine. Fitzpatrick also posted 22 assists and eight digs. Tyler Sheafer and Lisa Campbell each recorded eight digs as well.
West Chester will be back in action next Friday and Saturday when it hosts the annual Ram Fest.
