SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Jaleel Mack scored a team-high 17 points, and West Chester University placed five players in double figures to get back on track and defeat host Shippensburg University, 82-70, Thursday evening at Heiges Field House.
West Chester (11-6, 2-3 PSAC East) ended a three-game slide while Shippensburg (6-11, 1-4) dropped its fifth contest in its last six tries.
The Golden Rams opened up a double-digit lead with a nice 16-4 run out of the locker room at halftime that put the visitor’s on top 56-39 shortly after the first media timeout. Khalif Foster (7 points) highlighted the run with a conventional 3-point play.
Kehinde Roberts poured in 15 points while Lance McDowell had 14 points and nine rebounds. Miguel Bocachica added 12 points and Shannon Givens had 10.
West Chester returns to action on Saturday with another PSAC East battle at Bloomsburg on the road. Tip is set for 3 p.m.
