BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg’s second-half effort erased a halftime deficit as the host Huskies came from behind to down visiting West Chester University, 74-61, in a PSAC Eastern Division men’s basketball showdown Saturday evening at Nelson Field House.
West Chester (11-7, 2-4 PSAC East) dropped its fourth game in its last five tries while Bloomsburg (7-11, 2-4) picked up its second win in its last three attempts.
The men’s game eerily mirrored the women’s tilt just before it as the Golden Rams held a narrow five-point lead at the break (35-30), but were outscored, 44-26, in the final 20 minutes. West Chester’s women held a double-digit lead at halftime, but fell victim to a second-half comeback as well.
Khalif Foster led all West Chester scorers with 14 points, before fouling out of the contest. Shannon Givens and Eli Daniel each posted 10 points.
Dontahe Jordan led all scorers in the game with 20 points for Bloomsburg. Jesse Betar had 15 points and Trevon Johnson 14 to for the Huskies as well.
West Chester returns to Hollinger Field House on Wednesday as it welcomes cross-town rival Cheyney for a 5:30 p.m. tip. The men’s game will precede the women’s game on Wednesday.
