WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Mercyhurst's women's tennis team swept the doubles competition and then turned the same trick in singles play to earn a 9-0 win over host West Chester University during PSAC crossover women's tennis action on South Campus on a gorgeous Friday afternoon.
Brittany Counts put up the best fight at first singles, eventually falling 6-4, 6-3 to her counterpart. All six singles matches were straight-set wins for the Lakers. West Chester (1-1) was playing just its second match of the fall season, but the first on the brand new courts on South Campus.
The Golden Rams take on Edinboro Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
