WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Brittany Counts picked up a 7-5, 6-2 victory at first singles to clinch a 6-3 win over Edinboro Saturday morning on South Campus Courts. The win avenged a 9-0 setback to Mercyhurst on Friday during the PSAC crossover weekend.
West Chester (2-1) captured two of the three doubles victories with a 9-7 triumph at second doubles. From there, the Golden Rams took the first two singles matches to finish at sixth and fourth singles. Haley Wissinger picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth singles while Nicole Paller was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at fourth singles. Alex Santoro was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at third singles for West Chester's other win.
Paller and Ali Fetter was the pair that won the exciting, 9-7, verdict at second doubles. Wissinger and Jessi Englebert were 8-3 winners at third doubles.
