KUTZTOWN, Pa. - West Chester University's women's volleyball squad salvaged its PSAC crossover weekend at Kutztown University with a 3-0 sweep of Mercyhurst College inside Keystone Arena Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams had dropped their two crossover matches Friday night.
West Chester (14-9, 5-6 PSAC) halted its three-game losing streak while picking up its second win over a Western Division school this fall. The Golden Rams won by scores of 29-27, 26-24, 25-23.
Lexi Kegerise registered a team-high 10 kills while Julie O'Brien totaled eight. Helen Fitzpatrick picked up 22 assists. Dana Markol led 15 Golden Rams in double figues for digs with 15. Lisa Campbell, Mary Faust and Morgan Litek each notched 11 digs while Fitzpatrick had 10.
West Chester hit .130 for the match. However, the defensive effort of 70 digs and six blocks limited Mercyhurst to an .089 hit percentage.
The Golden Rams return home Tuesday for a non-league match with Shepherd.
