West Chester Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive, 76-48

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Lance McDowell led four players in double figures with 15 points as host West Chester University cruised to a 76-48 victory over visiting Millersville in a pivotal PSAC East men's basketball contest inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (14-10, 5-7 PSAC East) crawled back into the playoff picture with its second straight league win. Millersville (10-13, 5-7) falls into a tie for sixth place with the Golden Rams as a result of the loss. The two schools split the season series.

West Chester is in sixth place, but just one game out of third as Cheyney, East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg are all tied for third at 6-6 in the division. The good news for the Golden Rams is that they have two of those three schools next week with the Bloomsburg matchup at home one week from today.

Harley Williamson finished with a double-double, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds. His last was a breakaway dunk in the final minute. Carl Johnson registered 13 points and Khalif Foster went for 12 in the win.

West Chester will travel to Cheyney on Wednesday evening for another very important league match as the Rams continue to stay alive in the postseason picture. Tip off in Cope Hall is set for 8 p.m.
