Men's Basketball Drops Season Finale, 61-58

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Seniors Kehinde Roberts and Eli Daniel each posted 13 points in their final college basketball games, but visiting Bloomsburg prevailed down the stretch to earn a 61-58 victory over host West Chester University inside Hollinger Field House in the season finale for both schools.

West Chester (14-12, 5-9 PSAC East) dropped its second close game of the week, following a six-point setback at Cheyney on Wednesday night. Bloomsburg (11-15, 7-7) saw its playoff hopes go up in smoke, despite the win, as Cheyney defeated Eastern Division regular-season champion Mansfield Saturday.

Khalif Foster added 10 points to make it three players in double figures for the Golden Rams. Bloomsburg’s Trevon Johnson was the only Huskies player in double figures with a game-high 20 points.

West Chester held a 56-55 lead with 1:31 left and had possession of the ball. However, a pair of turnovers in the next 60 seconds of play led to four straight free throws for the Huskies that gave the visitors a 59-56 advantage with 11 seconds left.

Jaleel Mack made a layup with three seconds left to bring the Rams to within one (59-58). However, Jamar Smack knocked down a pair of foul shots to keep West Chester at bay.

Mack launched a 55-foot desperation shot at the buzzer that rimmed out.
