WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University turned out its best performance of the year in the vault, but still placed fourth in the overall standings at the Ken Anderson Invitational hosted by Temple University Saturday afternoon.
West Chester scored a 184.625 overall, trailing Towson (190.700), Temple (186.725) and William & Mary (186.200). Despite the fourth-place finish at the meet, the Golden Rams gymnasts put up an impressive showing, especially in the vault where WCU registered its top score of the year with a 46.700.
All six gymnasts were above a 9.2 individually. Kaley LaFleur scored a 9.4 while Alison Mitrosky scored a 9.75, and Melissa Voskian posted a 9.35.
Lyndsey Britt placed fifth overall on the uneven bars with a 9.525. Emily Siegel scored a 9.375 and LaFleur registered a 9.2.
Amanda Lentz scored a 9.3 on the balance beam, finishing just behind teammate Siegel, who posted a 9.4.
LaFleur recorded her highest score of the year in the all-around competition with a 37.575 to place second.
West Chester heads back to the City of Brotherly Love on Wednesday for a mid-week meet at Penn.
