West Chester Gymnasts Third At Penn Quad

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.
– West Chester University’s women’s gymnastics squad placed third in the quad meet hosted by University of Pennsylvania, topping Wilson College while finishing narrowly behind Ursinus and falling to Penn as well.

West Chester scored a 46.575 in the vault and a 46.175 on the balance beam in totaling 182.750 overall. Ursinus amassed 182.925 to edge the Golden Rams for runner-up status in the quad. Penn notched a 187.925 to win the team scoring. Wilson rounded out the field with a 162.750.

Four of West Chester’s five scoring marks in the vault were above 9.3. Melissa Voskian led the way with a 9.4 while Alli Aquila scored a 9.35 and both Kaley LaFleur and Stephanie Plaugher posted a 9.325. Voskian placed fourth in the vault and Aquila fifth.

LaFleur was runner-up on the balance beam with a 9.65. Emily Siegel recorded a 9.55.

West Chester will have another shot at Ursinus on Sunday, Feb. 13 when the Golden Rams travel to Collegeville for its next meet at 1 p.m.
