AUBURNDALE, Fla. - West Chester University dropped its second extra-inning affair to Slippery Rock this week, falling 1-0 in 10 innings at the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational Friday night.
The Golden Rams (3-5) have now dropped their last five contests, including a 3-2 setback in 10 innings to Slippery Rock earlier this week. The Rock, ranked 17th in the nation, improves to 7-6.
Five different players registered one hit in defeat.
Joe Gunkel pitched eight innings and allowed one run on five hits for West Chester.
Carter Haponski singled home Lee Foxton, who had doubled, with one out in the 10th inning to score the only run of the ballgame for The Rock.
West Chester will be back in action on Saturday in a doubleheader against Saginaw Valley.
