Meet Results
PISACATAWAY, N.J. – West Chester University placed fifth in a meet hosted by Rutgers University at the Livingston Recreation Center Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams scored a 181.325 in the non-league women’s gymnastics meet.
West Chester (7-12) scored its lowest overall total of the season in falling short of host Rutgers (194.350), Cornell (191.55), Southern Connecticut State University (187.825) and Yale (186).
Freshman Paige Griffin turned in a fine floor exercise routine to score a team-high 9.45 in that event. Senior Alison Mitrosky posted a 9.35 on the vault with teammate Melissa Voskian scoring a 9.3.
Freshman Emily Siegel led West Chester on the uneven bars with a 9.4 while Amanda Lentz led the Golden Rams on the balance beam with a 9.35.
Allie Aquila scored a 36.4 in the all-around competition.
West Chester will be back in action at Sturzebecker HSC when the Golden Rams host the 2011 ECAC Women’s Gymnastics Championships. The Rams will have another shot at Southern Connecticut State when the Owls and Bridgeport University invade Gym 6 on South Campus.
