BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Claire Afrassiabian picked up a win at fourth singles and West Chester’s first doubles team registered a win, but it was not enough to overcome host Bloomsburg in a PSAC East women’s tennis match Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (7-8, 1-1 PSAC East) came up just short at third doubles, falling 8-6, to Bloomsburg. Afrassiabian was an easy, 6-0, 6-1 winner at fourth singles. Brittany Counts and Luisi Souto teamed up at first doubles for a hard-fought, 9-7, triumph.
Souto dropped her match at second singles in a third-set, tie-breaker. Bloomsburg swept the other four singles events to close out the win.
West Chester will try to bounce back with a league match at Shippensburg on Wednesday.
