SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Josh Heyne went 5-for-6 with five RBI and three runs scored, while Dylan Zigman added a 4-for-5 effort with four runs scored and a pair of RBI to pace visiting West Chester to a 19-7 victory over Shepherd in a non-league baseball game Thursday afternoon.
West Chester (20-20) evened its record on the season with the win over Shepherd (12-18).
Joe Gunkel (4-2) picked up the win for the Golden Rams on the mound. He allowed six runs, three of them unearned, on 13 hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He walked three and struck out seven. Brent Roehrich went the rest of the way, allowing one run on three hits.
Reid Pulford went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI, and Chris Pula was 3-for-4, including a double, with four runs scored.
West Chester travels to Philadelphia University on Friday for a single game at 3 p.m.
