SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - West Chester University swept host Shippensburg, 9-0, in a PSAC East women's tennis match at Robb Sports Complex Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester (10-8, 2-1 PSAC East) won all six singles matches in straight sets, dropping just one game overall. Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles were all 6-0, 6-0 winners while No. 2 singles was a 6-0, 6-1 winner.
Brittany Counts, Ali Fetter, Claire Afrassiabian, Alex Santoro and Kara Shumock were the straight-set, shutout winners. Luisi Souto at second singles was the other straight-set winner.
Counts and Souto teamed up at first doubles for an 8-2 win while Fetter and Santoro were 8-0 winners at second doubles and Shumock and Nicole Paller were 8-1 winners at third doubles.
West Chester returns home Friday for another PSAC match against Millersville at 2 p.m. on South Campus.
