WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie in double overtime with visiting California (Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon at South Campus Field.
West Chester (1-4-2, 0-3-2 PSAC) is still in search of its first conference victory. However, the Golden Rams took a big step forward with the scoreless tie against a powerful Cal (6-1-2, 1-1-1) team.
West Chester has now gone double overtime and come out with a draw in two of its last three contests. The Golden Rams have been playing sound soccer over the last few weeks of the season, creating scoring opportunities, and Tuesday was no exception. However, head coach Kendall Walkes’ crew just cannot find a way to finish.
Garrett Bleiler, making his first start in goal of the season after getting over an illness, made four saves to earn the tie. Charlie Dagnal made six saves for the Vulcans.
The Golden Rams are now off until next Wednesday when they host NY Tech at South Campus at 4 p.m.
