BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Kaley LaFleur took first place on the balance beam. However, host SUNY-Brockport scored a 186.00-181.525 victory over visiting West Chester University Saturday afternoon in a non-league meet.
West Chester (5-2) picked up a win from LaFleur, who scored a 9.5 on the balance beam. Unfortunately, that was the Rams’ lone win on the afternoon.
The Golden Rams were just a point behind Brockport on the vault. Melissa Voskian was the top Golden Rams finisher, placing third overall with a score of 9.425.
“We did very well on the vault today, though the scores don’t necessarily reflect that,” head coach Barbara Cordova commented. “I thought the girls all performed well.”
Paige Griffin placed third on the uneven bars with a 9.15. Meanwhile, Lindsay Britt placed sixth on the floor exercise with a 9.4.
West Chester will travel to Temple University for the annual Ken Anderson Invitational on Feb. 5.
