WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Marina Sharkey registered 17 kills and three blocks, and Allison Grammer posted nine kills to lead host West Chester University to a 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-10, 25-12) over PSAC rival Cheyney University in a volleyball match inside Hollinger Field House Friday evening.
West Chester (12-13, 3-8 PSAC) ended a three-match skid with the win over Cheyney (0-16, 0-11).
The Golden Rams registered 14 service aces, led primarily by Sharkey's six and Mandy Flynn's five. Alix Orlando posted 17 assists while Flynn set up 16 of the Golden Rams’ kills. Christina Urso led West Chester making nine digs.
West Chester is back in action Tuesday evening for a non-conference tilt with Georgian Court before traveling to Shippensburg on Friday for another pivotal conference showdown with the Raiders.
