WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Melissa McKeary scored twice and assisted on another goal as seventh-ranked West Chester University downed visiting Clarion University, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon to move into a tie for first place with California (Pa.).

West Chester (13-2-1, 10-2-1 PSAC) has 31 points on the season, equaling Cal's total. The Vulcans kept pace with the Golden Rams on Wednesday by defeating Kutztown, 2-1. The Bears fall into third place in the league standings and have concluded their regular season.

The Golden Rams travel to Millersville on Saturday to play the Marauders in their regular-season finale while Cal travels to Shippensburg Saturday night for a regular-season ending contest. If West Chester and Cal end up in a tie for first place, the Rams would win the tie-breaker by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Vulcans earlier in the year and would be the top seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament.

McKeary tapped in a cross on the end line from Marie D'Angelo in the seventh minute to put the Golden Rams on top early. Jen Hutchinson was left all alone at the 18 a few minutes before halftime. She took a couple dribbles and hammered a shot into the left side of the net to give West Chester a 2-0 lead heading into the break.

McKeary made it 3-0 early on in the second halff when she headed a loose ball inside the right post off a lob from teammate Diana Rowan into the middle of the penalty area.

Dana Hunt made it 4-0 later in the half when she dribbled down the middle of the field into the area and blasted a shot past a helpless Laura Saussol in goal.

Autumn Rosenberg took a pass from Liz Ventura and beat West Chester goalkeeper Shannon Fedyk from about 14 yards out for Clarion's lone goal of the contest.
