EDINBORO, Pa. - Eric Frans registered his first career double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. However, homestanding Edinboro was too much for visiting West Chester, 94-73, in a PSAC men's basketball contest inside McComb Fieldhouse Wednesday evening.
West Chester (5-4, 3-2 PSAC) saw its modest two-game winning streak come to a close while Edinboro improved to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the PSAC.
The Golden Rams struggled in the beginning of the game and trailed by 15 to 20 points for much of the tilt. However, West Chester plugged away in the second half and eventually drew to within eight (79-71) with about six minutes left to play. Unfortunately, that was as close as the visitors would get as the Fighting Scots extended the lead once again down the stretch.
Shannon Givens chipped in 15 points off the bench for West Chester while Troy Hockaday netted 14 points.
West Chester is off until after the new year when the Rams hit the road once again for a two-day stay out west as they visit Lock Haven and Clarion on Jan. 4-5.
