WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Corey Blake (Rustin) scored a team-high 14 points, but host West Chester went cold shooting from the floor down the stretch as No. 15 Indiana (Pa.) topped the Golden Rams, 71-52, in a PSAC men’s basketball contest inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (3-3, 1-1 PSAC) saw its modest three-game win streak come to a close with the loss while IUP (5-1, 1-1) avenged a defeat to the Golden Rams in last year’s PSAC semifinals on this very same floor and bounced back from a defeat on Saturday at Cheyney.

The Golden Rams, who trailed the entire way for the exception of one tie, hovered around a seven- to nine-point deficit for much of the second half. However, IUP came up with a stop and a bucket at the other end whenever it looked like the hosts were going to get back into it.

West Chester shot just 34.4 percent from the field (11 of 32) in the second half and mustered just a 35 percent effort for the game. The Crimson Hawks’ played tough defense, forcing the Golden Rams into low-percentage shots. WCU was also just 1-for-12 from beyond the 3-point arc in the game.

Harley Williamson scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss. Ryan McKeaney had eight points and six boards. Blaked added four steals to his 14 points.

Mathis Keita scored a game-high 22 points for IUP. Marcel Souberbielle had 11 off the bench, and Scooter Renkin notched 10 off the bench as well.

West Chester continues its homestand next Saturday with a PSAC East contest against Mansfield at Hollinger Field House. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
