Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Jon Breedon finished with a team-high 15 points, and three others finished in double digits, as host West Chester defeated Millersville, 81-70, in a PSAC men's basketball contest at Hollinger Fieldhouse Saturday evening.

West Chester (11-9, 8-8 PSAC), led most of the contest and were for the most part never challenged, resulting in its second consecutive league victory and fifth in its last six outings. Millersville (7-13, 5-11 PSAC) never truly got going and struggled for much of the contest.

The Golden Rams shot a staggering 73.9 percent from the field on 17 of 23 shooting. All of the Golden Rams who got into the game registered at least two points. Jaleel Mack recorded a career-high eight assists to go along with his 12 points on 5 of 10 shooting. It was a total team effort as the Golden Rams jumped out to an early lead in the first half and went into the break leading by a commanding 17 points.

Millersville did not go away quietly though, never letting West Chester pull away and blow the game out of proportion. Guard Larry Grant led the Marauders with 24 points. It was not enough to stop the unrelenting Golden Ram offense, which methodically passed and created points both beyond the 3-point arc and in the paint.

In the end, Millersville cut the lead down to eight with 1:07 left, but West Chester converted their free throws and pulled away for the 19-point margin of victory. The Golden Rams finished 62 percent from the charity stripe(18-for-29). The strong overall effort from the home team left the fans excited and happy on a festive alumni weekend.

Lance McDowell, Carl Johnson, and Mack also finished in double digits for West Chester.
