PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Stephanie Schuler finished runner-up on the balance beam and fourth in the all-around as West Chester University placed third at Rutgers University’s tri-meet Saturday afternoon with Towson University.
Schuler posted a career-high 9.750 on the beam to place second against the Division I competition. She also scored a 9.6 on the vault and registered a 38.3 in the all-around. West Chester, which tied its school record on beam with a 47.7, finished with 189.025 points. Towson won the tri-meet with 193.425, and Rutgers was second with 192.900.
It marked the second straight week that West Chester posted a score of 189.025 and the fourth time this season that the Golden Rams scored better than 189.
Emily Siegel recorded a career-best on the uneven bars with a 9.625. She finished sixth in that event. Teammate Paige Griffin posted a career-best 9.575 in that event to place eighth. Siegel also placed sixth on the beam with a 9.625. Teammate Cassandra Ringer equaled Siegel’s mark on the beam to tie for sixth place as well.
West Chester completed its regular-season slate with Saturday’s competition. The Golden Rams now prepare for the ECAC Championships later this month in New Haven, Conn.
