WASHINGTON, D.C. – Host University of the District of Columbia swept all nine matches in a non-league women’s tennis match in the nation’s capital Saturday.
UDC (12-3) swept the doubles competition, before taking all six singles matches from West Chester (4-6). Nikki Paller came closest to a win, taking her opponent to three sets before losing in a tie-breaker. Paller fell 6-1 in the opening set, but battled back for a 6-1 win in the second. She lost the third set, 7-6, dropping the tie-breaker, 10-3.
Brittany Counts fell at first singles, 6-4, 6-2. Nobody else won more than one game in dropping straight-set matches.
