WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Ali Fetter notched a 6-2, 6-3 victory at second singles for the fifth and deciding point as West Chester’s women’s tennis squad defeated visiting Eastern University, 5-4, in the season finale on South Campus Thursday afternoon.
West Chester concludes the season 11-9 overall.
Fetter gave the Golden Rams a 5-2 advantage in securing the win. She also teamed with Brittany Counts at first doubles for an 8-2 win to get things started. Alex Santoro and Haley Wissinger picked up a win at second doubles, before Eastern captured the third and final doubles event, and the Rams led 2-1.
Santoro registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles while Wissinger was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at fourth singles to put West Chester up 4-1 in the match. Eastern came back with a win at sixth singles, before Fetter finished up at second singles for the clincher.
