WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester scored 16 runs on 12 hits while seven different pitchers limited Philadelphia University to three runs on five hits en route to a 16-3 victory in the regular-season finale at Serpico Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Jordan Wlodarczyk led the onslaught with a pair of doubles and four RBI as West Chester (33-9) used 21 players in preparation for the upcoming conference tournament later this week. Philadelphia University concludes its season at 11-32.
The Golden Rams scored twice in the first and added three more in the third, before putting up four runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and four more in the sixth. PhilaU scored single runs in the third, sixth and eighth.
Matt Baer hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot, in the fourth.
Left-hander Conor Kerins (2-1) started and threw three strong innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits and striking out four. Alec Schwartz pitched the fourth, and John Barr threw the fifth. Andrew Kulp came on in the sixth, but he got just one out, allowing one run and walking three. Brent Roehrich relieved him and threw 1.2 innings, surrendering one hit and striking out three. Nick Hinkson threw the eighth, giving up one run on one hit, and Kyle Weary pitched the ninth.
Wlodarczyk hit a two-run double in the third and followed up with another in the fourth right before Baer went yard.
Chris Pula hit a two-run triple in the fifth, and Josh Heyne followed with a double to right for West Chester’s three runs.
The Golden Rams head to Butler, Pa., on Wednesday to take on Slippery Rock at 12:30 p.m. in the first round of the 2012 PSAC Tournament.
