WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University’s women’s volleyball squad split its two matches on the final day of Ram Fest, falling to Daemen College, 3-0, in the morning contest while defeating Holy Family, 3-0, in the afternoon.
West Chester (9-5) improves to 23-2 all-time in its own tournament over the last six years.
Julia O’Brien led the Golden Rams in kills during the victory over Holy Family. Cara Reese and Allison Grammer each had seven kills as well. Mary Faust had 14 assists while Mandy Flynn registered a team-high 15 assists.
In the opener Saturday morning, West Chester dropped a three-set match to Daemen by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-16. Cara Reese had nine kills while Mary Faust had 15 assists and Mandy Flynn had 13. Dana Markol led the way with seven digs.
West Chester hosts the PSAC crossover next weekend at Hollinger Field House. On Friday, the Golden Rams will take on Slippery Rock and Clarion. Saturday, the Rams will face California (Pa.) and Indiana (Pa.).
