SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - For the second straight match, West Chester University's men's soccer team walked away with a tie after 110 minutes of soccer Wednesday at Shippensburg in the PSAC opener for both schools.
West Chester (1-2-2, 0-0-1 PSAC), who is unbeaten in its last three matches, got a goal from Kevin McCann after an exchange of headers in front of the goal off a corner kick. Dan Venuto was credited with the assist.
McCann scored his second goal in as many games in the 53rd minute to give the Golden Rams a 1-0 advantage. However, Shippensburg's Jonathan DeNicola knotted things up in the 68th minute and that is how the game would end.
West Chester's Garrett Bleiler made six saves in goal for the visitors.
The Golden Rams host California (Pa.) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. following the women's contest at noon.
