NEWARK, Del. - West Chester University split its two matches on the final day of the Wilmington Tournament by defeating Bentley, 3-0, after beginning the day falling to the College of Saint Rose, 3-1, Saturday.
The Golden Rams dropped the opening match 26-28, 25-22, 24-26 and 14-25 to the Golden Knights. Julie O’Brien had 10 kills opposite St. Rose, adding three blocks. Kelly Martin and Allison Grammer had nine kills apiece, and Martin and Gammer added seven and six blocks, respectively. Mary Faust posted 19 assists and eight digs. Mandy Flynn also had 15 assists. Tyler Shaefer led the team with 19 digs.
In the afternoon match, West Chester swept Bentley, winning with scores of 25-22, 25-15 and 25-21. Lexi Kegerise led the team offensively with 10 kills while Grammer and O’Brien had five apiece. Kegerise and Schaefer both made nine digs.
West Chester will take on the University of the Sciences Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
