WEST CHESTER. Pa.- Walsh University (Ohio) captured the second doubles match 9-7, en route to sweeping the doubles and defeating West Chester 7-2 on a sunny Friday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.
The Golden Rams (2-2) had not played a match in over two weeks, due to inclement weather. The Cavaliers have won five straight to move to 5-1 on the season.
Lars Kristiansen was a 6-4, 7-5 winner in fourth singles, to secure West Chester's first point.
After dropping the first set at love,
Pat McGinley rebounded to take the second 6-4, and was a three set victor with an 8-6 final set triumph in sixth singles, for the Golden Rams other win.
Connor Dunn and
Chaz Irwin fought valiantly but were bested 9-7 in second doubles.
West Chester finished the Fall season even up with a 2-2 record, and look forward to better health and a successful spring campaign in 2014.
