Box Score
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Miguel Ross scored twice in a two and a half minute span midway through the first half to lead West Chester to a 2-1 victory at no. 23 Slippery Rock, Saturday afternoon at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The Golden Rams (11-3-2 overall) finish the conference regular season with a 10 game unbeaten streak and a 9-1-1 PSAC mark, putting them a point ahead of second place Mercyhurst (9-1 PSAC), who host Gannon next Saturday.

Slippery Rock (11-3-1, 6-3 PSAC) scored in the 43rd minute to end goalkeeper Ryan Shultz's conference shutout streak at 733 minutes and 28 seconds. The first PSAC goal the Golden Rams surrendered in over eight full games.

West Chester opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Conor Malarney outfought a Slippery Rock defender in the corner, to walk in uncontested and find an open Miguel Ross for an easy score.

The Golden Rams added to the lead in the 29th minute when Ross scored again, a long pass from Alex Caplan sent the speedy freshman in alone for his eighth of the year and third of the week.

The second half featured several opportunities for both squads, but no additional scoring

Ryan Shultz made two save in goal for the Golden Rams. Slippery Rock keeper Chris Zier recorded 10 saves, including an all-out diving stop in the second half on a free kick by Roberto Silva from the 18-yard line.

West Chester plays its final regular season game on Thursday, a non-league game against Shepherd at 2 p.m. at Rockwell Field.
