WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's women's tennis squad dropped its second match of the day Saturday, 9-0, to visiting California (Pa.) on South Campus.
The win improves California University of Pennsylvania tennis team to 2-0 overall this season, while the Golden Rams fall to 1-3 on the year.
Senior
Lucie Sipkova, fresh off her titles at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, picked up a pair of wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. She claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at first singles and teamed with junior
Lucie Rey to collect an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Rey earned a singles win of her own with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at fourth singles.

Ramona Czakon at No. 2 singles, sophomore
Alexandra Borgenhoff at No. 3 singles, freshman
Veronika Mikulis at No. 5 singles and freshman
Mariela Sarinana at No. 6 singles each earned a 6-0, 6-0 win against their respective opponent.
Along with Sipkova and Rey's victory at No. 1 doubles, the Vulcans swept doubles play behind an 8-1 win at the second spot by the team of Czakon and Borgenhoff and an 8-2 victory by Sarinana and teammate
Florine Gross.
