Ely and Sicinski Lead West Chester To Road Win At Slippery Rock, 84-71

Box Score

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Dallas Ely posted 28 points, and Brittany Sicinski added 16 to lead visiting West Chester  to an 84-71 victory over host Slippery Rock Wednesday night in a non-conference women's basketball contest inside Morrow Field House.

West Chester (7-3) got back to its winning ways, after dropping a close decision last night at Cal, thanks in part to 22 points from its bench. Slippery Rock (1-9) dropped its fourth straight.

The Golden Rams put three players in double figures with Kendall Benovy's 10-point night. Serifat Junaid added six points and eight rebounds off the bench for West Chester as well. Sicinski grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to complement her 16 points.

Slippery Rock's Jazmyne Frost poured in a team-best 19 points. However, she picked up her fourth foul of the game with 9:33 still to play, and West Chester closed out the game on a 22-11 run. Frost would eventually foul out with 2:36 to go, and The Rock did not threaten thereafter.

The Golden Rams also knocked down 6 of 7 foul shots in the final three minutes to ice away the game.

West Chester returns home from its two games in two days road swing out west to host another PSAC West foe, Edinboro, inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
