NEW HAVEN, Conn. - West Chester’s women's gymnastics managed to come in third out of four teams in Saturday’s Yale Bulldog Invitational hosted by Yale University.
The Golden Rams' total score was a 186. Bridgeport placed first with a score of 194.725, Yale came in second, scoring 191.325, and Springfield came in fourth with a score of 184.050.
The women scored their highest vault score of the year led by Melissa Prisco scoring a 9.625. Meghan Brannon tied the school record that she had recently set with a 9.775 on the bars, and Karen Laskaris scored a 9.6. The team struggled a little on the floor exercise, but Melissa Voskian had the teams highest score with a 9.425.
Kaley LaFleur competed in the all-around during the meet. She scored the team's highest score on the balance beam with a 9.55. Her all-around score was 37.625 and placed 6th overall.
West Chester hosts Ursinus on Feb. 22.
