WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad set a season high of 189.350 in a win over visiting Ursinus Friday evening inside Sturzebecker HSC.
The Golden Rams topped the Bears, 189.350-183.875.
Paige Griffin scored a 9.775 on the floor exercise to lead West Chester's effort Friday night. Teammate Melissa Voskian scored a 9.725 as the Golden Rams posted a team score of 48.275 en route to setting the new season-best mark. Alyssa Hult scored a 9.65 and Lindsey Knapp a 9.575. Griffin and Voskian finished first and second, respectively, on the floor exercise.
Melissa Prisco led West Chester's contingent on the vault with a score of 9.625 to win that event. Voskian placed third with a 9.575 while Jacklyn Clark and Kaley LaFleur each posted a 9.5.
The Golden Rams captured the top four spots on the uneven bars. Karen Laskaris was the individual winner with a 9.65 while Prisco finished second with a 9.35. Griffin was third with a 9.3, and LaFleur was fourth with a 9.2. West Chester bested Ursinus by 2.025 on the bars to create a little distance in the team scoring.
LaFleur won the balance beam routine with a score of 9.575. Patti Konschak was runer-up with a 9.475. Lauren Bilenki was fourth with a 9.425.
