West Chester Gymnasts Fall In Tight Match With Division I Penn

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester’s women’s gymnastics dropped a tight dual with Division I University of Pennsylvania, 191.625-187.750 inside Sturzebecker HSC Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester took third, fourth and fifth on the uneven bars, led by freshman Meghan Brannon, while also taking fourth, fifth and sixth on the balance beam, led by senior Kaley LaFleur. However, the Quakers’ depth was just too much to overcome in the end.
 
Brannon scored a 9.7 on the bars while teammate Karen Leskaris scored a 9.625 and Paige Griffin a 9.575. LaFleur’s 9.65 on the beam led all Golden Rams. Teammates Lauren Bilenki (9.3) was right behind her with freshman Lindsay Knapp behind Bilenki with a 9.15.
 
Brannon also posted a runner-up performance in the floor exercise with a 9.75. Melissa Voskian was fourth with a 9.7.
 
Melissa Prisco tied for fourth on the vault with a score of 9.55. LaFleur scored a 36.95 in the all-around competition.
 
West Chester travels to Yale University next weekend for the Bulldog Invitational.
