West Chester Rally’s For Back to Back Wins

West Chester, Pa – West Chester Baseball came away with a pair of wins in its doubleheader against Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon at Serpico Stadium. WCU erased a four-run deficit for a 5-4 win in the opener, before shutting out BU for the third time in two days, 3-0, in the nightcap.
 
West Chester (11-8-1, 4-0 PSAC East) remained unbeaten in league play and sits in first place after the first weekend of the PSAC schedule. Bloomsburg (4-12, 0-4) had its opportunity at a win in three of the four games of the series. WCU has now won five in a row and seven of its last eight. During the Rams’ latest five-game winning streak, four of those wins came by one run.
 
The Golden Rams scored five unearned runs in the top of the sixth inning with two outs to erase a 4-0 deficit and grab the come-from-behind win in the first game, 5-4. Offensive efforts were led by Jordan Wlodarczyk and Kyle Frazier, who both had two RBI and one hit apiece.
 
Brent Roehrich (1-0) got the win as he came in to relieve starter Matt McAllister in the third inning.  Roehrich only allowed two hits without yielding a run.
 
The Golden Rams shut out Bloomsburg in the second game of the doubleheader, 3-0. Conor Kerins (2-2) got the win with six innings pitched, and Kyle Weary grabbed his second save of the season as he came in for the seventh inning. Kerins only allowed two hits and struck out five. 
 
Jack Provine and Chris Pula led the team with two hits on the day. Provine also helped out with one RBI.
 
West Chester is back home at Serpico Stadium on Wednesday as they welcome visiting Chestnut Hill at 3 p.m.
